The Daffodil Dandy show was successful with 170 head of Miniatures and Shetlands competing over three days. The classes ran smoothly and finished at decent times on all three days. Thanks to all of the club members that helped with the set up and take down of the arena decorations and to those that helped give out ribbons and to those that helped with the jumping and obstacle classes.
I do not have a total on the silent auction that was to raise funds for the club's high point program but I do know that the bidding was active and many people were waiting nearby as time was running out in order to not get outbid at the last minute! At the Area V show a bake goods auction will be held so club members bring you best baked desserts to help out the high point program.
Club members please send photos from the show to add to our gallery page. I know that Philip and Jack got some really good photos over the weekend. Also send news of your new foal arrivals, show results, etc!

Thanks~

Letter from Ken Fielder:
Hello! My name is Ken Fielder. Some of you know me by name and others know me by sight. I have been a member of the N. Texas Club off and on for 10 years and a steady member for the last 3 years. I have shown minis from 1999 until 2007 when I switched to Shetlands and have been very successful.
Now, here is the reason for this letter. For the 2010 show year, I will be your high point awards program director. Since I am still in the planning stages, here is what I have in mind to help pay for the awards. At the Daffy and Spooker we will have a silent auction. At the Area 5 show we will have a bake silent auction. So please bring your items for the silent auctions and ladies and gentleman, bake your best cakes, pies, cobblers and cookies for the Area 5 auction. All this to help the cost of awards. Now, if you would like to sponsor an individual high point award, please send a monetary donation of your choice and the name of teh award you wish to sponsor to: Ken Fielder, 3370 Rodgers Rd, Whitesboro, TX 76273. Phone 972-822-9158, email: buckcstorm@verizon.net
Please make your checks payable to ASPC/AMHR Club N. Texas.
You will be given recognition for our sponsorship at the 2011 Daffodil Dandy when the awards will be presented. If anyone has any other idea to help raise money for awards please let me know.
Thank you and good luck to all of you this show season and you all have champions!
Ken Fielder
From Brooke Boleyn, Executive Director White Bridle Humane Society:
White Bridle Humane Society (www.whitebridle.org) is a local equine assisted therapy organization in Irving that uses miniature horses to do obstacle courses on the ground and in the cart driving. It is a great program and we want to get our youth volunteers and eventually some of our program kids (mostly kids with autism) involved in showing miniature horses.
Also we may be in need of additional cart driving miniatures for our Saturday programs this year. We are hopefully moving to a new location in Grand Pairie near I-30 and George Bush freeways.
Sandi Costa is helping us complete our cart driving certification program for cart drivers to pass before they can be included on our insurance policy. Any person in your club who may be interested in coming up and cart driving with us should take this 1 day training session and cart driving test to approve both drivers and their horses. We are using horses that have passed our driving test program to ensure the safety of everyone involved. If we have enough ASPC/AMHR North Texas Club members interested in our program, we could talk about doing the one day training session in Glen Rose.
Thank you!
